Coming off Prednisolone

Can anyone advise how long it might take for Prednisolone to leave my system completely please?

I began in August 2019 on 70mg, then reduced by 10mg every 2 weeks.

Finally, I finished the final 2.5mg dosage 2 weeks ago.

So, I've been on a reducing dose for 7 months.

Thank you for any advice 🙂

Hi, I've googled it, there are lots of med sites that mention it and they all say 16.5 to 22 hours. ie within a day of last dose.

The slow reducing is to limit withdrawal effects.

They do say though that some side effects eg ' moon face' can take longer to disappear.

Thank you eyesright! I thought it would take longer to be fully out of my system than that... maybe weeks, not hours! Great news 🙂

I've also stopped Mycophenolate Mofetil which I've been told 13 weeks. I'll be glad to be free of those 2 soon! x

Always best to get qualified medical advice though. Just ring your doc.

Sorry, no idea what that other's about. This is a forum for eye ( macular) problems. There's probably a different community that would have folk who understand what you have :)

Hi, thanks again. Both those medications are for my Macular Oedema and Uveitis. The other is an immune suppressant so it takes a while after it has left the body for the immune system to recover/rebuild x
