Reaction to Avastin injection for AMD.

Anyone experience reduction of near vision following Avastin injection?

I have had 5 injections so far, I haven't noticed any reduction. I am also taking AReds

Hi, I've been having injections for quite a few years, with over 20 in each eye, but this is the first time I've had this reaction. Went back to the clinic, but the consultant suggested just waiting to see if it settled down. .

Tomorrow will be one week since the injection.

I was getting an Avastin injection for my right eye that has wet MD. All was going well after about 10 injections. Then a different Retina specialist gave me an Avastin injection that was extremely painful to a point of me almost collapsing onto the floor. I immediately lost almost all of my near or reading vision in that eye & I have never recovered from it. Since that bad shot, I must now use a magnifying glass or magnifying sheet to read anything in normal & even larger-than-normal print as the reading part of my bifocals is now useless. My body also suffered severe trauma from the severe pain & that lasted about 2 months. I never went to that Retina Specialist again. I had several more Avastin injections after that one & all were ok. I am now on Eylea as the Avastin stopped working after a total of about 18 months. My near vision has never returned & has never gotten even a little bit better.

So, in my opinion one can lose one's near vision if the person giving the shot screws up big-time.
