Uh???

After my wet md review today, I was told that all possible improvement had been achieved and I would be getting no more injections. Now here is the weird part. My future reviews will be over the phone. !!! How is that possible? How can you review a physical problem verbally? Have any of you ever heard of this ?

Isn't one usually told it can come back at any time. As far as I understand it, with AMD, they continue with OCT checks regularly, monthly to begin with ans then at longer intervals. If you don't need regular check-ups including OCT, I think you might ask why.

How strange; at my last scan I was told like you that 'all possible improvement had been achieved' but instead of 8 weeks injections it would now be 10 weeks between them. I wonder if your health authority have been trying to save money. I always thought that if improvement had been made they carried on with injections to keep it that way.

Not heard of this . Where are you based? This could be a bit will be like a triage service I expect. If they need to see you when u speak with them they will get you in and see you. They are still keeping you in there books which is good.

Ask for a written explanation and take it further

Not heard of this approach before. Although I am currently having injection every 14 weeks in one eye, I have a consultation and OCT scan every 5 weeks. No expert but thought the only way to assess any changes or small leakage is with the OCT scan. Might be worth asking for a periodic scan so that any changes can be addresse. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.I haven't needed an injection since early December.Had 7 in total. I am going to ask all the points everyone on the forum has raised. Seems like this is a new idea to all of us.Now I know how a guinea pig feels.
