I have been using yellow-orange over-glasses when I look at the computer screen. However, my wife recently went to a new eye doctor, who told her that the type of glasses I have been using block only the longer wave length blue light, and that total UV blocking over-glasses are the best to use. Those UV blocking lenses are a dark color - not yellow.

"Liquid Crystal Display, or LCD, flat-panel monitors, most commonly found on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices today do not emit any UV radiation."
UV-blocking glasses can be clear, i.e (almost) perfectly transparent to the visible spectrum.
I think the jury is still out on whether the blue light from TV's and computer monitors is harmful. If you're worried about it, you might like to consider turning the blue down or setting the "temperature" lower.
Qi also asked my consultant if being on my iPad is bad for my eyes and he actually said no! I was over the moon ! I am on it a lot . My daughter works with the RNIB and she is a rehabilitation officer for the blind . She has trained many people to walk through Edinburgh with long canes . I am sure you will have people like her as well . She says she sees lots of nearly blind people still using iPads etc . And other technology as well. So that is good news .
