Hi Yotboy; what an absolutely brilliant idea; I always have problems getting the drops lined up. If I had to do them daily or for long periods I'd make one of those.
Hi yotboy
I like your idea and I am sure it would be worth looking into such possibility. I always struggle putting drops into my eyes as my hands are not too steady, but....
1) Could the effect of the drops on the plastic cause some of the plastic to be transferred to the eyes?
2) How could you make sure the gadget is properly sterilised?
I am sure there would be a demand for such or similar aid.
This was put forward as an idea to get people thinking. If I had a problem, and for ease of sterilization & ease of use, I would consider using a 30 or 60ml glass lab quality funnel with a removable brightly coloured foam collar on the 'sharp' end. Hold the funnel with the foam collar - line it up by seeing (as well as possible) 'up' through the hole and add the drops. The foam collar can be as big as needed to cope with unsteady hands - even something like a face sponge with a hole through it for the funnel.
Much depends on the degree of difficulty experienced by the user. A snugly fitting foam collar for a standard dropper bottle would also possiblty do the job.
