Double vision with dry AMD

I have wet AMD in my left eye and dry in my right, so I have been told. When I check my right eye on the Amsler grid I have double vision. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know what this signifies?

I have double vision sometimes, I put it down to eyestrain as for me seems to be linked to lots of reading/computer use. If you get it regularly might be best if you ring your eye clinic - Best not to leave things and they will give you good advice x

Thank you eyesright. When I had my fa last Wednesday they gave my right eye far more attention than the left with wet AMD, which I thought rather odd. I guess they will have picked up any problems and I should find out next Wednesday when I go for my first injection. I just felt I needed to talk to some one other than the people around me. Although I had answered to your last reply to me, somehow it has not come through.

Best wishes to you and all fellow sufferers.

Hi, I have double vision with my macular degeneration. It was my only symptom in the beginning. I just saw my third eye doctor to try and get better answers and he said it was the muscles that caused it. Still not sure what that has to do with the macular degeneration.

Hello, maybe we have a similar symptom which is very rare. I have scarring in my central vision from CSR. No fix for it. Over time, I got double vision. I have seen so many different people on this. The best explanation is that the eye which cannot see from the center is now trying to look off center for a seat spot causing the double vision.

It's made my life so horrible. I get discomfort in my eye the moment I wake up. No one has answers for the discomfort. It's in between a burning sensation to a gritty dry eye. Some days I will drop lub in my eyes every hr.

Hi. Try gel eye drops/lubricant. They are very thick and you have to close your eyes and roll your eyes while closed and blink a lot to clear them when you first re-open them but the gel drops work. Hope this hekps you.

Hi, I had double vision and had prisms put in my right lens to correct it. I had the maximum number of prisms and still had double vision. I had an operation to correct it, it wasn’t successful so I had another. It’s nothing to do with AMD. It’s a muscle problem I am told.
