I was diagnosed with wet AMD in right eye in January and have since had five injections of Lucentis and Eyelea in both eyes. Would having Laser surgery benefit sight in both eyes?

Does laser surgery benefit AMD sufferer?
Hi Gerryos
Lucentis and eylea are always used as the first course of action for AMD. If it works for you I doubt they will resort to laser surgery. Not everybody is suitable to receive laser treatment, depending on how close your AMD is to your optic nerve. There may be other criteria too. It is certainly a longer lasting procedure and there have been some good results. Your medical team will be able to advise you. Only they know exactly what your situation is. Hope that helps.
Hello Gerryos,
Ayayay80 is quite right, ant-VEGF injections such as Lucentis or Eylea are the first line treatment for treating wet AMD.
Have a look at our booklet which explains about treatments;
