Try polarised with Iridium coatings and a wrap around style, they cost quite a bit, they are really worth it. If you can get them try the Oakley Fives, unfortunately Oakley stopped making them on a regular basis, but do so every now and again that's what I have and they are excellent and I am trying to get another pair. Hey do Some called Five Squared, but this style is masculine and too big for me.

Are they prescription lens inthem. Where did you get them. I have just got some from specsavers but i get light in the side when sun is on the side. One eye isblurred. I guess that is the AMD. My prescription is the same. Do not notice in clear lens.

Hello Hanyam, so sorry to hear you have this genetic condition x

The RNIB website recommends uv sunglasses and a wide brim hat.

I dont have your problem but do wear reactolite specs and if I suffer with particularly bright glare then I use over shield sunglasses on top which also have side pieces for extra cover. You have to get the proper standard of uv protection though as otherwise your eye actually opens more to see through the shading and therefore potentially more damage. RNIB website sells them, probably opticians too.

Hello Hanyam, my hubbie is extremely light sensitive and we followed advice from people on the Forum and now keep ahead of the game now.

My hubbie eventually changed to Reactolites and this has covered the majority of situations. He was worried about both the cost and them staying dark when moving indoors but the ones he has, this does not pose an issue. He also has over glasses and a couple of pairs of clip-ons, one of which he tends to carry in his jacket pocket with him. He also has regard for the location he sits in to reduce glare when the sun is bright and now we just need to be aware of fluorescent lights in shops etc. Some affect him badly and others do not. The Eye Clinic has a lot of glare! It has been a journey of trial and error but his prompt action in potential glare situations has been pretty successful. His main glasses were very expensive but the other solutions were not and so he feels pretty well on top of the situation now. Who would have thought that bright sunshine and bright lights, we previously thought to be our friends, could turn out to be quite painful.

Good luck with your journey to find the correct solutions for you.

Kind Regards

The Smilers
