What sunscream do you use?

I am using SPF 50+. For the last year I am using the Apivita sunscream which covered me at the beginning but not anymore. I have also used the Avene, La Roche Posay, Bepanthene and Vichy but none of them worked for me. When I am saying not working, I mean that my skin turns red and itchy even not directly in the sun.

Hi ribitribi,

I usually use Boots or Superdrug's own brand factor 50. Both of them work although they leave me with a slightly green tint. They are also a lot cheaper in price and I buy them on offer as I use a lot of it.

Hi

I get Sunsense Ultra SPF 50+ on prescription from the GP.

Last year was the first year I had to use this as my skin was so sensitive all of a sudden and I found it worked. It is now on my list of 'repeat Prescriptions' from the GP .

If you need it permanantly I would ask for it on prescription. :)

Hi,

I used Sunsense 50+ in Lanzarote last year as well as Boots Soltan 50. The Sunsense you can get on prescription and is really good. But i really rate Boots Soltan. It has 5 star UVA & UVB protection, and you can get it in all different types, spray, cream etc. But definately wait for the offers if you buy from boots.

For my face, I love the Roche Posay Fluide Extreme. It doesn't make me shiny at all and they do a factor 50. It's relatively expensive but a little goes a long way, so as a daily moisturiser it's quite affordable. Boots occasionally have it on 3 for 2 which lasts me a whole year! It's wonderful compared to everything else I've tried for not looking shiny or white or green....

I also have very sensitive skin even when I am not in the sun. I use Sunsense 50 + on prescription. Also Neutrogena do a couple with SPF 100 and also SPF110. I buy it on line and it's despatched from America. Sunsense is fine for everywhere except my face , I always cover up as much as possible everwhere else. Try e-bay. Hope this helps.

Hi Ribitribi, Because of the chemicals in sunscreen products I can't use any of them. Apart from making me itch, they also make me feel sluggish, 'hang-over' and fatigued, so I simply stay out of the sun. I never go anywhere without a hat and put on Aloe Vera gel before and after being outside - works for me. Hope you find something suitable. xxx :)

I use 50+ Nivea or Boots cream, and try and stay in the shade as much as possible.I got a really bad reaction to La Roche Posay and trying to shower the cream off made the itch worse,Its a bit of trial and error.I have asked the chemist for samples that might help you yo get one for you .
