My partner and i are thinking of going to the Cape Verde Islands, but have learnt that immunisation for Hep A, Tetanus and Typhoid are recommended. Has anyone been to a country where immunisation is needed, and if so had any adverse reaction to the jabs?
Going abroad, need jabs?: My partner and i are... - LUPUS UK

Hi
I had these injections in 2011 and had no adverse reaction. At that time I was taking prednisolone & plaquenil. Have a great time x
Thanks both, biggest problem I face now is my partner who is worried sick that either jabs will make me ill, or some tropical illness with 'get me' as like many partners she is the only one who sees how vulnerable and fragile I have become since being ill. Well maybe it'll be the Canaries after all, but hey, i'm really pleased to have something to look forward to and plan for. Slowmo x
Hi, not to scare you, but just double check with your doctor on the immunizations. Only cause i had typhoid and yellow fever and that's what initially triggered off my lupus.... but then again we are all different, Best of Luck...Cape Verde Islands sounds lush! x
If the vaccines aren't live they should be ok. My daughter was told NOT to have live vaccines
I have just come back (wednesday) from Cape Verde islands (Boa Vista) and wasn't advised to have any jabs and I was fine - have developed a cold though!!
