Hi, just wondered if anyone else has major gut problems like me and whether a lupus condition? I am trying to see a common link between al these symptoms but the three major ones for me are fatigue, joint pains and ibs, anyone else the same? Thanks x
Lupus and ibs: Hi, just wondered if anyone else has... - LUPUS UK
Lupus and ibs
lucykris
im with you compleatly fatigue, muscle and joint pain the the awful ibs,i don t have major gut problems but i do have to take lansaprazole every day and have now for 2 years this has helped with the acid.
i watch what i eat and take care of my weight which is now under control and doing that has really helped my ibs. but of course any kind of anxiety stress or even any kind of stress can cause my stomach to flare and become exstreamly uncomfortable.
i have had many discussions about this being related to lupus and i dont think its part of my lupus as i have had ibs since i was in my early 20s long before i developed lupus.
but who knows it could be related but even if it is sadly once again which we can hear a lot is that there is no cure.
Hi, I too feel these are my main problems. The IBS is quite a recent thing and has settled a bitnlately. Flares up if I eat too much dairy or sweet things. I am also on lanzoprzole (for 2 years also) after have h.pylori bacteria in my tummy. If I dont take it every day I get agonising heartburn. I am not sure if there is a link or not but interesting hearing others have these problems too so maybe there is a link. Take care xxx
Yes I'm afraid IBS is just another of those annoying symptoms we suffer from. I have found mine has greatly improved since I started taking probiotic acidophilus which I bought from holland and barrett. I certainly notice it's worse if I forget to take them regularly. They often have an offer where you buy one pot get another for 1p and then I stock up. It might be worth a try for you too
I found relief once I cut out dairy and meat from my diet. I certainly know within half an hour if I ate something there was dairy hidden in!
I Sufferd with a bad gut all my life (38yrs)I beleive thats where my lupus started.poor gut health from a neglected gluten intolerance,as a child had terrible tummy trouble ,now my gut is so inflamed and has tiny perforations causing leaky gut syndrome, hence my sensitivities. Our guts hold our immune sysytem ,lupus is an autoimmune disease,so there has to be a connection?Try when you get chance to read up on good gut health,if you heal your gut your lupus should settle ?or at least be more managable?I,B,S is just to easily diagnosed <good luck ,brave
I have suffered from "IBS" since I was 15. During the last 6 months I have lost over a stone dropping to 7st 7. My doc referred me to the hospital as the stomach cramps and nausea were getting so bad, the consultant told me without examining me that it was just IBS and to try fibregel!!!!! I have cut out wheat which has made a difference but it is a long way off being settled.
I was told I had"IBS" about 8 years ago and have found out now it is Diviticular disease, I think they just use it as easy diagnoses. Your thoughts on it all being linked with Lupus and the gut Brave is good never thought of it that way, makes sense
Hi thanks for all your comments certainly seems like there maybe a link another thing to put up with!
