I was diagnosed with SLE in 2002 at the age of 15. I had hair loss, facial and body rash, joint pains and Anaemia. After about 2yrs I then started to suffer from inflammation in the kidneys.
Most of my symptoms are improving apart from the anaemia. Does anyone have suggestions of treatments as so far the doctors haven't found one :oS

I suffer with this aswell, would like to know if anyone has any suggestions. I have been eating alot of dark greens & am on iron tablets but not improving.
Try combining your iron intake with vitamin c as this can help the iron be absorbed. this was the advice I was given when I was younger and anemic. Hope you feel better soon anemia is horrible.
My consultant suggested a blood tranfusion, luckly this was not needed as I eventually started to improve. As I hope you will
Hi, when I had low iron count I was advised to eat dark greens, red meat and whilst eating these meals drink orange juice which helps the body absorb the iron content quicker. It seemed to help me, best of luck and hope you feel better soon. :0)
Also eat nuts including peanut butter, beans (b.beans etc), soya products like tofu, wholemeal cereals and bread. Also I was told that you should not drink tea with meals.
