I visited clinic a few weeks ago and the azathioprine has been stopped and the hydroxy has been halved. This was because I had chest infections ie. immune system low. Now it has come up again but consult says I cannot go back on it. So I feel more un-well again. What do you suggest.
Thanks.

The obvious answer is to up the Hydroxy. But assumes your doctor doesnt have a good reason for keeping down. Can you tolerate the higher dose?
The other obvious idea would be prednisolone ,but again this has implications for the immune system.
Looking at it from another perspective, you might consider breathing exercises, yoga t'ai chi etc to help with your general well being. Juggling is a good thing, as it demands good posture which in turn makes for good breathing.- its also quite good fun.
I am just about to go on methotrexate and have had it spelt out loud and clear that if I get an infection it will be reduced or stopped. A friend suggested as she did for her husband who was on it a notice on the front door not to come in if you have a cold or infection. Seems to me people are so happy to share bugs and ills with no thought of the problem it can have for individuals who have to have this kind of treatment which includes many other conditions.
When my bloods came back that my immune system was low they put me on 20mg prednisolone for 5 days then reduced it to 10mg then 5 mg over 2 months. Im also on hydroxy and they didnt reduce that. I was having blood test done weekly why my immunity was low and these tablets got my immune system back to normal.
