Mine are in a terrible state and I think its been caused by SLE. It started with inflamed gums then teeth cracking and now they're so weak they keep breaking off. I'm waiting to have the last few removed and dentures made. Not something I expected at 42 years but I didn't expect to be bedridden some days either. Sometimes the medication is a factor with your teeth too. Hope this helps its not your paranoia unfortunately its the illness.
Thanks. I've been told that lupus doesn't affect your teeth but my experience is the complete opposite. Good job I took out dental insurance! So glad I'm not being paranoid.
Hi I have syjorgens, which I have been told by my dentist and g.p is to blame for my poor teeth, I have many fillings ,always have had now I have just got over having an absess, and I am due to have a root canal filling and crown.
Every time I visit the dentist I need a filling or a couple of fillings,I hate my teeth,I. Have really dry teeth and mouth, the lack of saliva doesn't help .

Thanks for all your replies. I always used to have good teeth but I get the feeling that's going to be a thing of the past.
You are not alone. I hate going to the dentist and I end up going every few months as my teeth are crumbling away. My dentist offered me £4000 worth of work to repair them!!! I mentioned this to my reumy, who in turn referred me to the max fax dept. The specialist told me not to have any major work like crowns etc as my teeth will not be strong enough to take the work. I am just supposed to keep having them patched up. He also prescribed me biotene mouth gel to help with saliva production, advised me to floss which i do anyway and to use a flouride mouth wash. he also found that I had a ferritin level of 7 and was aneamic which apparently doesn't help either
I have lost all my Teeth For the last five years, a few crumbled the rest were strong and healthy but they all shook as the bones beneath were crumbling. So it was enduring the pain orlosing them for dentures. I chose dentures after having an opeRration to remove the crumbling bones.
How do you all afford dentures,?? I am afraid to have my teeth (that are falling apart) checked ou, for lack of funds for any major work or non major work that probably needs to done. I cant afford any work, with my mounting med bills. Im in the US, and there is no help. (that I can find)
Im happy for all that CAN get some teeth back!!!
