I have also had this problem, lucky for me my brother is a hairdresser, so he suggested, washing my hair in cool water using normal shampoo but no conditioner and finishing it off with a rinse in as cold water as you can stand sounded awful but for me it has worked may not work for you but may be worth a try before buying other shampoos my bathroom is full of hem for one thing or another x

don't know how long your hair is, but mine is between chin and shoulders. I had a Brazillian Blowout (Brazillian Blowdry in UK) using Acai products and it worked beautifully. (I have no financial interest in this or any products I refer to here) It's quite expensive but it lasted for four months in my case. my hair finally got shiny again after a few years of being all frizzy. the frizzy was not my normal state -- def lupus related.

also i use Minoxidil 5% (on prescription through the hospital -- as only 2% is recommended for women without) and this made the resulting hair grow back a bit like straw - and totally white as well. Of course I am thrilled that I got any hair to grow but now i have to dye my roots.

Other than that I only use Sulphate-Free shampoo (look online there are a few over the counter brands doing it now but initially i had to find in a salon and it was quite pricey). That def helps with the dryness. Nothing with sodium laurel sulphate - if you read the ingredients list they will almost all have it in. Actually I found a brand sold in the Pound Shops that was called "anti breakage..." and that is sulphate free. doesn't suds up much but hey, it's only a pound and it works! so i actually bought loads of them.

one last thing i use along with the above new regimen is a SMALL (tiny) amount of argan oil. also called moroccan oil. I use the light blue label bottle for thin or light hair. again, only a tiny amount spread on my hands and applied to very damp hair after washing and combing out. mainly to the ends.

So there you go. my routine -- about a year and a half i've been doing the above and it's changed things for me enormously. Good Luck.

H I have found Poly Tar to be fantastic. Stinks a bit, but solves itchy, oily, dry etc. Also doesnt cause any irritation on the rest of your body.

I hope this helps.
