I too get very itchy. To be honest I think it's just. Another thing to complain about on the very long list of Lupus problems. I have had steroid creams when it's been very bad. Hope this helps a little.
I also get very itchy and it drives me mad. I suffer with the parts that are generally exposed, head, face, arms and hands. I wondered if it was to do with my hayfever but taking antihistamines doesn't help with that. So I guess it is another symptom that some of us have to put up with.
I suffer from really bad itching as well. Mainly on my arms, it feels like there is something under the skin and once I start stratching I cannot seem to stop. I have even woken myself with stratching. Nothing seems to help but a cold wet cloth but that's only a short fix. I guess as you all say it's lupus thing!!!!!!
I suffer from the itching as well. Unfortunatly it is something that I have had to get used to with Lupus. However my GP prescribed ketopine shampoo, not sure if you can get it without prescripton but it worked wonders for my scalp ect.
Mine drives me mad,I call it my Itchy Coos!! Was told it could be Vasculitis. Keeping cool helps and I also drink Red Bush tea (supposed to be good for skin conditions) Although I don't think it is the skin, its more like the tissue/vessels below the skin.
I can't keep still when mine is at its worst, feel like a mad woman lol!
It sounds similar to what I have been told, I have had vessels popping in my feet which cause tiny holes which are scabbed for the past 6 years. Very painful and difficult to walk, good news is right foot healed and can't explain why! Bad news now happening to my left foot
I to suffers from the itchies, not all the time, but mainly on arms and scalp, usually only for a couple of days at a time, wasn't sure if it was med related of as smudge said above just another thing in the ever increasing list. Will make note and ask rheumy
Thank you all for your contributions and the tips on calming the itching. Its great to note that you are not alone, that of my scalp and feet does really drive me mad.I'm on the phase now scratching my toes and scalp whilst write.I guess we have to put up with this.
Please, have any of you mentioned it to your specialist,Sabine had to see her Gp and got result.I would look for this shampoo and try the cold wet towel
Itching yes - around the head and face - but noticed this more so after I have washed my hair. My skin is so sensitive that it reacts to almost everything. I feel that the MMF and steroids also add to this.
