so sorry to hear you cant sleep,lupus can be such an unforgiving desease i too had trouble sleeping last night as i now have digesting problems and now have acid reflux which i have never had before ,so doc suggested i sleep upright. oh yeah i said that will be fun 3 extra pillows and half sitting up, but got up 1 hour ago with really stiff neck can hardly turn it and very achy shoulders.rather take my chances with the acid .still on the good side i have tablets for that now which side effects are bloating,gas and felling sick. can t wait to tell my husband what hes got to look forward to.

Try asking for a stomach tablet I take Lansoprazole to protect my stomach, it helps with acid reflux, only if I don't take one by the evening it is bad. You will not be doing your gullet any good and I agree almost impossible to sleep like that. Good luck. X

I have trouble sleeping, my doc prescribed me Atarax, it's an antihistamine with 'a light sedative effect,' sometimes, they knock me out. I seem to build up a tolerance if I take them all the time, so now I take them only after a few nights of hardly any sleep has left me shattered. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing and I don't want to be taking sleeping pills. Maybe you could ask your doctor to try them?

I had a rough sleepless sweaty shivery night last night too. Now I am just exhasted and achy. I have been given sleeping tablets but am wary of taking them as I don't want to become reliant on them.
