I was diagnosed and am still treated by my dermatologist for cutaneous lupus. Take someone with you to the appointment if you can..there will be a lot of info and it's handy to have a notebook to write down things that are said. If that rash is current on your face they may take a biopsy of it. I had a biopsy done but I have never had the Malar rash, I had all over body rash at the time the biopsy was taken from the top of my arm. Wear your best undies coz if you've got rashes anywhere else they will want to examine you. While I'm in the waiting room I usually prep my phone so that I can show different rashes I've had..my dermy likes to be able to view my skin pics. Talk about your light sensitivity too and how it's affecting you..including fluorescent lighting. I was diagnosed in 2017 but I will say to you that my bloods were what eventually got me the lupus diagnosis. Take a bottle of water with you because appointments can be draining and it's a lot of talking. Finally and most importantly if you're unsure or don't understand what's being said ask them to explain what they mean.

Wishing you the best of luck 🍀🤞 and hope it goes well for you. x

I was diagnosed via a skin biopsy which they took from my leg as I had all over rash. Ask lots of questions and make sure you leave with a plan for treatment or at least a further appointment. Best wishes.

Hi,I’m sure you will be fine. I presented with a rash of blisters & my doctor panicked so managed to arrange an urgent appointment with GRI same day. I had the tests as Kraft Kat & told by the Consultant she suspected Lupus which I had thought. I was immediately prescribed hydroxy & have never looked back. Good Luck

Oh ok on pod KS
