Has anyone experience sudden thickening of skin under fingernails and cracked finger tips .. realky tender ?

Yes, I do get this and my nail keeps now growing into the bed, causing infection if I don’t catch it time. It’s very painful and no amount of moisturiser helps. I don’t have lupus, but have vasculitis, so have a lot of similarities.

Any ideas of what causes this would be helpful. 🤞😊

No, but I have one nail that cracks as soon as it grows a little. I am always afraid it will catch on something, so I usually keep it bandaged.

Hello, I have similar issues and it must be Sjogrens. I have vasculitis/lupus. It is fairly a recent thing. Last year or so. I have thickening toes nails with very dry hardening skin around them. I have checked for fungal infection via GP surgery service and it came negative. So I am assuming it is Sjogrens. My finger nails are not thickening but all skins around them constantly need caring. I buy special oils for nail cuticles and etc and it seems to help. But it is yet anything to do to take care of myself...the list keeps getting longer and I feel like I have turned into an infant that needs constant caring. 😅😂

Yes I have Sjorgens as well .. doc has put me on iron tablets and given me Anti fungal nail lacquer .. it’s every finger nail .. 😔

Hi, mine is also a recent thing. I also have a similar issue on my feet/ toes. Nothing helps, always putting on moisturiser, I just have to be so vigilant and act quickly if feel it going into the cuticle. Is this a symptom of sjogrens? Thanks 😊
