Hello Mystik,
I just returned from Mumbai yesterday. I have Lupus for which I take Hydroxychloroquine, and I treat myself with an anti-inflammation diet.
I didn’t plan ahead very well, so I had all the recommended vaccinations at once, just a couple of weeks before my departure. I felt fine — in fact I didn’t notice any reactions like the ones I’ve had with Covid, pneumonia and flu vaccinations.
Family members who live in Mumbai were particularly concerned that I get the typhoid inoculation as there have been some recent outbreaks.
I hope this is helpful. Have a marvellous time!
PS I did discuss safety with the practice nurse who assured me that all the vaccines are not ‘live’ ones and are therefore safe for people with Lupus. But it might be worth asking, for your own peace of mind.
Hi. I went to Namibia recently and had an array of vaccinations. I, too, discussed with the nurse and she assured me that they weren’t live vaccines so it was all ok. The only thing she said was that the immunosuppressants that I take (mycophenolate and hydroxychloroquine) would prevent the vaccine from being 100% successful. I had them all at once and was fine.
Enjoy your trip.
