So I have lupus SLE and APS. I take warfarin and hydroxychloroquine but my GP has prescribed anti virals and said I should take them. I started with symptoms Sunday evening and tested positive Tuesday morning.
I will do as directed by the doctor but I thought it was just for people who were on medication that compromised their immune system?
Has anyone else taken them in my circumstances?

I would be eligible for antivirals because of medication but if I was in your place I’d go for it. Anything to reduce the impact. Hope you’re better soon
Hi Bobbydoodle, I’ve taken anti-virals because I’m immunocompromised by lupus. My understanding (here in Australia) is that having lupus makes us eligible for the anti-virals, as do a range of other autoimmune conditions like diabetes.
I also have APS and am on hydroxy. I was eligible for the anti-virals prior to starting on hydroxy. So I think it’s an illness/disease thing that makes us eligible. And I did find that the anti-virals made the COVID-19 experience shorter and less intense. Hope that helps!
