painful hip and knee SLE lupus

Good morning to you all,

I have been suffering with problems with my hips and knees for a couple of years. I had a guided steroid injection in my right hip about a month ago. Initially gave me some relief but now after only a few weeks it has sadly worn off. The pain seems worse than before.

My right knee has been an ongoing issue, with a couple of bakers cysts. I’ve had it aspirated and steroid injections but sadly they had no effect on my knee and just resulted in me having a bad steroid flare !

I’m becoming pretty desperate to try and find something to give me relief, I swim regularly but walking and stairs are becoming increasingly challenging. I feel my mobility is becoming more limited daily.

Interested to know if anyone has found a herbalist helpful?

Any tips and advice most welcome, thank you 😃

Hi. I’m just a regular lupus human with no medical background lol but I’ve learned to stay away from herbs as there is too much interference with medications. I also swim and recently had steroid injections in hips.

Painfully speaking, aside from the exercises I do in the pool and walking short walks I have found it more helpful to never stop moving, stop exercising despite the pain. It becomes worse if I just sit. NSAIDS help inflammation but not like steroid shot unfortunately. Just try to keep moving gentle movements in water and out. MM
