Hi everyone! Does anyone developed rash after taking Mycophenolate? I’ve started last Monday and Saturday morning woke up with a rash in my chest, back, hands… is there anyone who has experienced the same?

No i havent. I've been taking it for 3 years now.my main side effects were nausea and bad headaches at the start. You should be on weekly or fortnightly bloods but I'd contact your consultant and ask for advice . Hope it improves soon best wishes SML xx

No, I had no rashes with mychophenolate but I did have a severe rash reaction in similar places but including down my throat to hydroxychloroquine after 3 months. With these medications reactions sometimes aren't immediate. I'd contact your rheumatology helpline or consultants secretary. They should be able to get you into clinic quickly to decide what to do.I got same day referred for a biopsy with dermatology and then steroids & creams to calm the reaction while we stopped the medication immediately. Just as an example. Mine was a Steven Johnsons reaction.

Hope it eases for you soon.

hello. I’ve been taking mycophenolate for 18 months now. I had dizzy spells and was brought off them for a week. I didn’t experience any rashes. I would contact your rheumatology nurse for advice and me t steps. Good luck xx

Hi Mariana, I felt marvellous on Mycophenolate for 10 days then started to be very sick and could not tolerate it. My consultant stopped the meds immediately and I tried again after 3 months but exactly the same thing happened…great for ten days then major problems…..this time my GP told me to stop taking them immediately. I agree with others that you need quick advice.
