My wife has SLE but always had symptoms that were more connective tissue related. Her breathing problems, shoulder, knee and hip problems didnt quite fit the traditional SLE profile.
Around 6 weeks ago she saw a knee surgeon because her knees appeared to be floating up and down her leg. Diagnosis EDS (as well as SLE) and two complex knee operations to come.
If you think you have something like this I can recommend the website of EDS UK for more information.

Did you know there’s also a EDS forum on healthunlocked? This can be useful too. My 20 year old granddaughters knee and shoulder are always sub laxing. It was only when she was 3yrs old that we realised most of us in the family have it in different ways 🙂
Chris21, Thanks for your reply. I will take a look at the HU forum and thanks for the advice.
It looks like my family also has it. My middle daughter was diagnosed a few years ago with type 3 and my son has all the symptoms but with him it is predominately neurological.
