Hello, it's been awhile since I posted as my lupus / RA has been calm for years. Fairly recently my little finger swelled, followed by aching shoulders, elbows and sore hands and wrists.
I have been on methotrexate for probably 8 years , and hydroxy for 25 years before that. Mthx felt like a wonderdrug. But now I'm worried about the next step if this combo has stopped working for me.
I would really appreciate any advice. Does physio work for anyone ?

Hi I’m no expert as I’m still learning about my lupus and flares but I know it feels so disappointing when you have a flare after a relatively stable period.
Have you requested to see your specialist sooner? I recently rang the rheumatology depart of my specialist and spoke to a nurse and she has referred me to Occupational Therapy.. not sure how much it will help but I am willing to try.
Could you contact your rheumatology department and see if they can offer any check up referrals or support?
Thank you so much for your supportive message 😁Yes, that's exactly it !! I thought I had found the answer to the pain, but its return is so disappointing. Yes, I have contacted the lupus nurse who was great , as always. I have done a blood test and she will ring me to talk about my results and discuss what to do next.
