My youngest son is 33 and lives in an area where vaccinations were slow to get started and consequently his 3rd jab was booked for today but cancelled. He is fit and healthy and lives alone but works in retail so exposed all day long. I cannot believe vaccination appointments are being cancelled. Anybody else heard of this?

All it needs is for the staff listed for that place on that day to be isolating because of Covid exposure. Happening all over the NHS at the moment. Not to mention airlines, councils, railways and other services.

Dreadful times for the whole world.

I think it's because so many have covid or are isolating they have no one to give the jabs.

He tested positive for covid on Friday and is unwell 🥺

Thanks

Must be, thankfully he’s managed to rebook for two weeks time but imagine that will depend on staffing levels!

Hi sd. I’m soooo sorry about this happening to your son and how scared you are for him. I pray that he gets it as scheduled and that you’ll both find peace after the immune buildup period.

Both of you please stay safe and take care.

Best wishes my friend.

Love & prayers.

EJ 🤗♥️🥰🙏🕊🤝💉🛡😷

Thank you honey bug x

The worst news, my son has covid, is unwell and home alone 🥺

OMGOODNESS sd nooooooo!!!I’m sooooo very sorry.

Are you able to help him at all???

Over here my State is the hardest hit with Omicron. The Military has been called in to assist the 5th hospital due to medical staff shortages.

We all have been warned NO ER visits unless life threatening and if deemed not worth saving if comorbidities and old you will die.

So far everyone with Covid admits are people who wouldn’t get vaccinated.

I know you must be heartbroken and so worried about your son.

I just said a fervent prayer for you both sweetie.

Sending gentle warm hugs Healing/comforting thoughts and much support hun.

Take care stay safe.

Love & prayers.

EJ 🤗♥️🥰🙏🕊🤝❤️‍🩹♥️♥️♥️

Thank you HB.He lives 150 miles away (that’s a long way in the UK) 😄

He’s isolating at home, he has food and heat and his computer but like all Mums I’m desperately worried as he says he feels terrible. Time will tell, thanks for the prayers 😀

Oh hun I’m sorry he’s so far away. Yes I know you are beside yourself with worry and stress about him.

Keep your faith strong…he has youth in his favor.

I will keep you both in my prayers.

Let me/us know how he’s doing please.

Much luv hun.

Dreadful SD, sad and unprecedented, in these times. I pray that your son receives his shot soon....🤗🤗 We are fumbling here too, in the states, everywhere. There are more people being told to Jab, and test, more then ever. But the powers in play, for all of us, did not seem to take appropriate measures to prepare, before they put out all the newer regulations, and plans. So many people working, need to vaccinate boost, and self test, to stay in there jobs, vital industries, schools, etc.. It's a bloody mess everywhere. Our government says, self test often, get booster jabs, and still keep self testing. We can't get hold of any either....Spray and pray, as they used to say in the military forces. Well, that is what is happening around the world. Please take care of yourself, and family, stay safe healthy as possible, and I pray everyone here builds better immunity. All my peace, blessings, and Love, The stormy sunshine :) XXxxxx

O' dear Sd. I am praying hard for him, and you, as a mum, we all can relate to this worrisome result. As EJ said, he has youth on his side and , much love, and prayers, with love. My son, with our grandbabies in the UK, has all vaccines and still got sick too. Your son, as mine are resilient, Here is a blessing for your son, and you, "Although you many not see them, you are always in there sight. They bring the gift of Love, and guidance, called The Angels Light .". All my best peace, and love, The stormy sunshine Xxxxxxx

Unfortunately a lot of medical appointments are being cancelled..,…because NHS staff are off sick…some with Covid. So we must be tolerant & not complain too much to those who are still holding the fort.

My son tested positive on Friday and is isolating in his tiny cold flat 150 miles away and unwell 🥺

Hello. My son also works in retail. It may be helpful to note that after phoning 119 I booked him his booster but it was 10 miles away. I rang the GP out of curiosity to see if they were doing them and I got him booked in that very week with the GP. So I cancelled the one 10 miles away. I phoned my GP last week to book mine (Due February because of medical complications) and they said they have not opened February's slots yet and to ring in a week or so. Might be worth him ringing his GP as we have had more success with them. Good luck.

My son lives 150 miles away from me and does not drive but luckily he managed to rebook for two weeks time. That will of course depend on staff availability at that time. His nearest walk in is 30 miles away and of course being in retail makes it harder to get time. Thanks for your reply 😃

There was three days that the vaccination centre here closed in the afternoon! Thankfully it was open on Wednesday when I made my appointment for. Luckily only had to queue for 5 minutes too. I hope your son manages to get his booster at his coming appointment Xx

They may have had a reason for cancelling the appointment but it would have been good manners to let him know the reason.

in reply to catblue1865

Overwhelmed I imagine but thankfully he had one booked in two weeks 👍🏻

Yes, booster jabs are being cut back now by stealth!

If you read the Sunday papers one ex adviser, a certain professor says boosters should only be given to the CEVs and elderly.

It's happening already without any tv press conferences.😢🤪🧐

Your 30y old son may not be in the target group?

in reply to debsgm

TBH I suspected that. My son is not CEV. It was inevitable that vaccinations would be withdrawn once this variant appeared less deadly. Herd immunity is required for financial reasons. As an aside: I read today that Sir Stephen Hawking said a real danger to humanity and the world as we know it (Jim) would be the release of a genetically engineered virus - he said this about 2006!

I’m not a conspiracy theorist but interesting……..

PMRpro profile image
PMRpro in reply to

Except "genetic engineering" happens naturally as well. And epidemiologists have been warning about a runaway virus for many years - just politicians went poo-poo ...

in reply to PMRpro

Quite right! It was only a matter of time.

Yes covid morphs the whole time!In Cyprus they’ve named a new covid variant: DELTACRON!

Thank you. Just have to wait and see 😩

We had a short period in late December where we were panicking (Ontario, Canada). Schools WERE going to open soon and the grownups did not have boosters and the kidos did not have the second shot. Our decision then was to hunker down completely. No interacting with anyone. But this is a privilege we had and not someone like your son. So I understand the concern.

Luckily, things started to get better in the first week of January. More ad hoc booster clinics and more vaccine supply. Plus they finally decided to delay the school opening.

The grownups have now had the third dose and the kids their second. It is still scary but at least we have now done all we could have. Now only if we could source some better quality kids masks!

I am hopeful that the wave will soon begin to go down (like it did in South Africa where it came fast and went away equally fast). Both UK and Canada are around the same stage in this wave. Fingers crossed.

He now has covid and is isolating in his cold little flat alone and quite unwell 🥺

I’m in Northern California & the Governor has called up the National Guard to assist with staffing at vaccination sites. Vaccinations are also in the scope of practice of pharmacists here. Most chain pharmacists will give COVID-19 vaccinations here. For example Costco Pharmacists give them by appointment. Possibly another option for some.

in reply to Clarrisa

Sounds well organised. Have you escaped the virus so far,My son tested positive for covid and is now isolating in his little flat and would not have been able to have vaccination 3 whilst suffering from the virus. Strange how things work out!

Ironic - back at the start of jabs, my grandson got his first jab (he's a nursing student) in the afternoon and had his first symptoms that evening!

in reply to PMRpro

I imagine my son won’t get the 3rd jab next week either as I believe you can’t have it whilst positive? Not clear about this though.

Supposed to wait a month after negative test I think.

Thanks I’ll check it out.

No I doubt it, I actually think I contacted COVID-19 back in January 2020 before the general public had access to anything. One thing I learned then is not to hurry back to your outside of home activities the minute you start feeling well. This leads to a sure relapse. Rest, rest & more rest.
