Still getting beautiful sunshine in Kent, although I’m mostly staying in the shade unless I have to go out, and enjoying it from afar. Also enjoying how much my indoor and outdoor plants have grown! I was never much in to gardening but recently I’ve loved watching these plants flourish and amazingly not a single fatality in my care!
I had some split night shifts the past few weeks so was going back and forth from being nocturnal to then having a normal routine again and it’s really made me flare up. I have a mouth full of ulcers and the one on my throat is making me feel so flu-ish. Joint pain, hurting, wanting to sleep constantly counting down the hours til bedtime again! You know how it goes.
After a lot of thought (and my husband urging me to put myself first) I spoke with my manager about coming off nights and she was so lovely and supportive. She asked general questions about my condition and behcets and I feel very well supported. My rota has been changed with immediate effect. I am so thankful!
I’m heading up to nottingham in a few weeks to see family and explore some areas, I’ve been looking in to my family tree and my mum’s side is fascinating so we’re going to see where people would have lived, where they are buried etc. So I’m looking forward to having a trip and some quality time with her.
Hope we are all well otherwise. Just trying to rest, rest, rest in an attempt to speed up getting out of this flare 🤦🏼♀️🙂
Big hugs

Your plants are beautiful , geraniums remind me of my mum and love the smell of them - my mum has a conservatory where she grows all her beautiful plants.
I’m so pleased that your manager has been so supportive and that you are coming off nights- I’m sure this will have a good impact on your health and hope you will soon be out of your flare .
Have a lovely time in Nottingham, sounds like it will be very interesting and it’s nice to have something to look forward too xx
Thank you! Yes I’m so pleased that my manager was so supportive, hopefully now with some proper sleep I can recover a bit quicker.
We are definitely looking forward to going up, my daughter especially so it will be nice to have a few days completely with her doing something she’s been looking forward to xx
Hi TeaandToast94. Sorry to hear you are flaring. Yes we are in the same boat. Not sure what has triggered mine apart from having heart MRI on Tuesday. I truly hope changing your shifts will help and congratulate you on coming to this decision.A trip to Nottingham sounds lovely. I hope your flare calms down and you get there soon.
As a gardener I think your plants look super. And it's so cathartic to watch them grow. Chelsea flower show on BBC at the moment - worth a watch.
Oh I truly hope your MRI was ok but how rubbish is it to be in a flare. I’ve barely slept tonight through joint pain, then kidneys hurt a bit, headache, small fevers, throat hurts mouth hurts etc. I hope the same for you that your flare is over speedily!Thank you! I caught a bit of it the other night, from the looks of it the place where I got my succulents from had won an award (personally I see why as their plants and service were excellent) but I missed most of the clip so I’ll have to go and find it again!
Good to know you’re a gardener, Positive. When I get stuck I’ll have to ask for some tips 😂 because I’m so relatively new to the hobby I’m looking for a small table to put my outdoors plants on as I have a tiny Japanese maple that keeps getting knocked down by foxes as some point in the night that when I see it the tree is out and root ball exposed 😰
Nice plants, enjoy Nottingham, watch out for The Sheriff 😉
Yes of course you can ask me about gardening!🤗 Sounds like a good plan regarding a little table to protect your plant. Hope you feel a little better soon. X
