Tales from the riverbank ...

If having a performing seagull who picks up balls wasnt enough. About a week ago a one eyed cat arrived in our garden and wont leave (the picture is showing its best side). My middle daughter has named in sauron admittedly it has that evil look and intent on world dominance - but we love it still. Looking forward to teaching it to bark, rollover for tummy rubs and fetch a stick.

“The picture is showing his best side” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Funny but not funny.

It is beautiful. I’m guessing female with so many colors. Say hello to PB for me.

Hi, It is a beautiful cat and its tragic it only has one eye. Hoping to find the owner or rehome soon. PB is recovering from hip reconstruction because of too many steroids.

So sorry to hear that. I hope she recovers as smoothly as possible…. If that’s even possible for us, the malady riddled. Sending her gentle hugs.

How lovely. I love stuff like this as I do believe things like this happen for a reason. Obviously Sauron has heard on the grapevine that you are a kind and wonderful hooman bean. We had a cat adopt us just before we moved and she chose to live in our garage. She wouldn't shift. I bought her a heat pad for the nights when it was cold. Just before we moved we found out she lived literally around the corner. She had a home, just 3 boisterous kittens she didn't particularly like, but we moved her back and she's still there and hasn't been tempted back to our old house at all. Her name was Grace and she was such a diva we renamed her Princess Grace of Meownaco. She ruled our garage with a paw of iron! Enjoy your puss tat. We are now animal-less for the first time in 40 years. I miss having someone who is genuinely pleased to see me when I get home. Namaste. Have a lovely day

I love your story and such a wonderful name. She is beautiful. Are you planning to get another pet? Maybe one will just show up. I know how much my Pumpkin and Gigi mean to me and love me no matter what. Gigi did just claim us as she escaped from an illegal breeder and has brought so much joy. Thank you for sharing such a heartwarming story.

Healing hugs.

How lovely of you to get in touch. I'm still in touch with Princess Gracie and her mummy. She's fine. I'm not sure I will have any more. I have been very lucky with my beloved animals and lost our Springer about six weeks ago. I still look for her when I come home. My husband and I (sounds a bit royal) might foster unless something finds us first or along the way. I always say never say never. Enjoy your fur babies, they sound scrummy gorge 😁.

I am so sorry about your loss. I still miss every furry baby i have ever had. Fostering sounds like a great idea.

Thank you. Here's a picture of my last but one fur baby; my younger son's teddy bear dog called Maxy Bon Bon. He did literally save my son's life. He was a wonderful friend to him. This dog had a power that helped my little boy at the time - he's 29 now, but he will always be my little boy. Animals can be great healers in my opinion.

Will do and thanks to all for your best wishes. Take care with steroids they are a wonderful drug but with severe consequences if you are on them too long and at too high dose.

I don't think Sauron looks evil, but maybe has to be on guard having only one eye. I think the tummy rubs will be easy to achieve. Pumpkin loves them and actually some times demands them in his gentle way. He was born with 3 legs and is not comfortable on a lap, but loves to cuddle. The barking and chasing sticks are what our dog Gigi does and I don't think Pumpkin wants to emulate them. Please share more about Sauron when you can.

Healing hugs.
