Stay safe in these high heat temps in the US.

To all US members. I hope you all take extra care in the continued heat. I am in New England and have not had the relentless temps the west coast has endured for the last month but in the sun at 7:30am the heat index is already 100f (38c) and I had to cool the pool temp with the heat pump for the first time ever this year. Stay cool and safe friends!

Another Yankee but I’m in the Deep South. Living with those temps usually for 5 months out of the year😎 With lupus it’s

Stay inside air con mostly or many people

Escape to Colorado. I’m stuck inside with

My dogs. 😊 Making spaghetti sauce today

For my son and his family!

Stay safe. Sometime ac can only cool twenty degrees below base temps which makes inside 80 degrees or higher for some. My AC is luckily new and has held its own during high heat waves. Xo

Same with me, @Titters. New York summers are so bad for me. The heat, the sun, the humidity 😫. I spend much of my time thinking of where to escape. But you’ll usually find me inside with the air conditioner 😂

My grandparents were from Alabama so I know that heat well. I do miss their farm, though. My cousin was just here, and we talked over ideas of turning the farm into a camp or a vacation spot. We may be the only ones who would go there, though.

The city is tough in the summer temps. 3 years ago we met my English family in NYC in late July and doing the touristy things in over 90 degree temps with high humity with them felt like visiting Dante’s version of hell. Stay hydrated and inside! XO

It really is, Roarah. I am so glad to be done with treatment that I am not too upset about being housebound. At least I can go to an air conditioned restaurant now. That is a big deal!

My pool is in full shade by three by design and I love umbrellas too! My neighbors never understood why I left so many trees around it but I love it. My teen hates the sun so she loves it too!

Yea. NY in summer is awful. But you seem to have a good attitude. I will admitI would not mind moving to a better climate but my husband is not retired yet

And I have grandkids here. But if he would consider NW coast I know I would.

I’m very Deep South Louisiana coast. SubTropical so literally, for lupus, inside

4-6 months. If I had been born an inside

Person, maybe I would not be so moody

About it? But I’m a bayou kayak girl.

Damn! Xx

It’s not only the heat but the uv intensity for different times of the day!

For me to avoid lupus flares I can only do gardening from 7pm onwards wearing a wide hat, sunblock cream (at least factor 50plus) and dark 👓. 👒 I’m very photosensitive.

Check out the met office for a very helpful guide to the universal uv INDEX (1 to 10+):

metoffice.gov.uk/public/wea...

I found it very helpful.

Uv intensity will be very high over the weekend in the U.K. particularly in south and southwest.

Not sure what they’ve got in the US.🤔

Xx
