This is my first post here since diagnosed with lupus.
I am on 15mg of prednisolone, and have also started on Hydroxychloroquine 20mg.
Since starting I have noticed that I am getting hot and cold flushes, and a tingling burning feeling in my feet and shins, also pain in my toes and fingers.
Has anyone else had this, when starting treatment, if so does it subside.
After initially feeling better, on just the prednisolone and actually knowing why I felt as I did. It has made me feel down.
Thanks

Im steroid dependent and have been on hydroxy for 2 1/2 years.the side effects i had lasted about a month.dont forget eye tests every year and hydroxchloroquine can cause photosensitivty so slap on the factor 50,cover up head to toe, hat and sunglasses too.x
The flushes are a common side effect of pred. the extremity pain COULD be neuropathy from the pred but you are on a low dose - how long have you been at that? Hydroxychloroquine can also cause it so with the two together - I'd be keen to speak to my doctors
It could be caused by taking the two drugs together. I was on 20mg Prednisolone and 400mg hydroxychloriquine but the side effects outweighed the benefits and felt worse. I had muscle ache and weakness. I only took hydroxy for 3 days because it gave me intense headache and eye strain. The prednisolne make me weaker.
How long are you on prednisolone?. I was only on it for 3 weeks but lasted a lifetime as couldn't wait to come off them.
Are you taking 20mg Hydroxy? I thought the lowest dose was 200mg?
