How has the Moderna (or any) vaccines been for you guys?

I got my first one as soon as I could in April, and I just got my second one today. I've heard things from other friends who don't have Lupus, and I'm kind of scared. Before the SLE, I've only been seriously sick once in my life, haha. The first one was the easiest vaccine I have ever had though. Some people seemed ok from what I read, others really went through the wringer. Did anyone have a flare-up triggered? :/

I only had arm soreness with both of my moderna shots. Hope you fared well too!

I did, it just gave me a sore arm, very little joint pain, and made the nausea I already had a little worse!

I was tired the day after the second moderna shot. My wife had the same reaction.

I had a sore arm and a slight headache with the first Moderna vaccine. Got a sore arm and some nausea and fatigue for 24 hours with the second. Since my lupus seems to like to affect my lungs the most, I was eager to receive my vaccines. For me, a day of feeling nasty 🤮 was well worth the peace of mind. Blessings to you on your vaccination journey.

I wasn't, but the appointment was made through my brother who has a friend at the clinic. I think he chose Moderna for me because I do know they also had J&J when it was available.

Not even a sore arm! A little lightheaded later on at night

I had Moderna which seems like an excellent vaccine from what I have read. The people I know (small sample) seem to have had slightly more side effects from Moderna than Pfizer. My son who is 29 and very healthy was the exception, he had a high fever after the Pfizer.

I am diagnosed with Lupus/Sjogrens and take hydroxychloroquine. I felt fine after the first dose of Moderna (sore arm) but before the second dose, I was already in a mild flare. The vaccine increased my flare symptoms of myalgia/aches all over, malar rash, nerve aches/neuralgia, hot and chills but no measurable fever. It was all very tolerable and lasted about 36hrs then mild body aches for a few more days. I took 3 days off work. Wonderful to be vaccinated! I feel so much safer and more relaxed around people.

How did you do after your second dose?

About the same! I didn't even have a sore arm for the first dose, but after the second I had some muscle and joint pain. I also had nausea prior to the second dose that was made slightly worse by the vaccine. I also felt hot and had chills with no fever. I definitely feel much more relaxed around others as well!

When I had the first Pfizer jab I had terrible side effects. My arm is still sore. I had my second one yesterday, I had to see the doctor on duty before they would do it , they decided that the protection that it gives you was worth the risk of another flare up. My arm is very sore and I feel sick but apart from that so far ok. Fingers crossed 🤞it stays that way. Xxx excellent service at Adelaide Centre Southampton where I had both jabs.
