I had an epidural in lower back on the 15th December to treat pain due to bulging disc sitting near the nerve. It’s yet to kick in or it hasn’t worked, how long does it normally take to feel better?

Epidural in lower back
Hi, I had the same procedure about 5 years ago for the same problem, it took about two weeks to kick in properly and then it lasted for about two years. We are all different but my specialist told me that in a very small amount of people it doesn't work, in others it lasts for 12 months plus. I hope that you are the latter! Take care, have a very Merry Christmas and Stay Safe!
I had a series of 3 injections about 19 years ago. The first of the series gave me some relief. I was told to not do any strenuous activity for the first 48 hours after each injection. The second shot occurred about 2 weeks later with greater effect. By the end of the 3rd injection I was able to get in front of the pain due to the stenosis inflammation. By using stretching and anti-inflammatory pills when doing strenuous activities I was able to stay in front of the inflammation for about 15 years. I had a back fusion 4 years ago.
