Lupus sle: Any advice and does anyone have these... - LUPUS UK
Lupus sle
Yes on my back and it's been almost constant for 4&1/2 years and they can often be annular and archiform. I've got sort of used to any itching and I have learned to distracted myself but there are times when it can really drive me crazy. But I've learned that on the rare times I have scratched it can be very painful and/or burns.

Thanks for reply xx
Hi Elena 🤗ouch that looks sore!! I completely sympathise with u coz I get lots of different types of rash..I have a diagnosis of subacute cutaneous lupus (SCLE) which affects my skin all over.
The rash that I can see in your pic is very similar to a constant rash that I had on back n chest for about 18months!! Very painful n itchy n difficult to wear clothing as so inflamed.
I'm managed by dermatology n I have to say that we've found it difficult to find the right combo of meds to get it under control..but currently I'm rash free.
Who is caring for u.. can u get appt with GP to refer u to dermatology or if you're already under rheumatology could u send pics n ask for referral through them?
I'm on hydroxy, prednisolone, methotrexate n other meds..n I have Dermol 500 lotion n steroid ointments of different strengths topical treatment. The dermol 500 is really soothing n easy to apply..it's used as alternative to soap n as a moisturiser for people with dermitis eczema ..it's gentle on the skin..u can buy it over the counter..I get it on prescription.
It definitely sounds like u need some kind of review..coz if you're only on hydroxy n steroid creams there r many things that can be experimented with to get it under some kind of control.
Do u take antihistamine? I take piriton when the itch is bad? Be very careful about soap, washing powder..maybe do an extra rinse cycle when washing to get all the soap out.
U said that you're having flare ups every week..that's putting your body through alot of stress n will have a great impact on your mental health too..u can't keep struggling like this n u must seek help!
Get someone to take pics of your back too so that you've got record of rash..unfortunately dermy appt tend to take a long time..put your symptoms in your diary if u have one so u can keep track of what's happening.
Hope some of this helps..meanwhile gentle cyber 🤗🌈😽😽xx
Ouch, ouch ouch - that looks so itchy and painful. Is it a Lupus rash, or maybe dermatitis? I'm certainly no expert on this, so soz if I'm making a stupid remark. In any case, I'm sending gentle hugs, xxx
