Mepacrine

Hi all, it's been a while since i have contacted our community, I have been checking in on you all frequently.

I have been seeing posts that hydroxychoroquine is being used to combat the corona virus. I am taking mepacrine which is also a anti malaria drug, so wondered if this could help us.

Probably clutching at straws but maybe something to look into.

Hydroxy isn't yet being used except in clinical trials to see if it does help. Don't know about mepacrine but I'm sure they will have thought about it!

Hi Karen,

Don't know the answer to your question but I take mepacrine too, 50 mg one day, 100 mg the next.

How are you getting on with it?

Hi, was doing really well on mepacrine, but had bad flare last year so now on azathioprine as well now.
