Leaky Gut : Hi me again has anyone had leaky gut... - LUPUS UK
Leaky Gut
Have you been diagnosed with leaky gut?
What symptoms are you experiencing?
Alot of migraines nausea fullness stomach pains struggle to eat the main one was leaking from behind. 🙁
These days if I had all of those symptoms to the same extent as you I would keep a food diary.
After doing that I would see if there was anyway to improve my overall food intake.
In the past I didn't believe there was anything wrong with my diet. But looking back I can see how much it has changed.
Common culprits for gut problems are bread and baked goods and high levels of sugary or sweet substances. By moderating these items hopefully you will substitute with higher veg levels. This will introduce more fibre into your diet.
If your digestive system is badly inflamed it won't settle immediately. You may decide just to rely on a drug approach. If however you don't tackle the root cause it will remain and in the longer term will make you more unwell.
I've cut everything out only on veg fruit diet since Thursday I've noticed some improvement actually want to eat. I've read about it online which I know is wrong but needed to do something otherwise it would have got even worse. Going to request bloods tomorrow as seeing rheumy.
It can take a few months to heal properly but I'm determined to do just that it has been going on for sometime now nearly a year or so. ☹ Thks for your advice thou 😉
Are you purely on fruit and veg? Or mainly?
I only say this cos this may be ok for a short time but for longer periods you may need to have some additional inputs. Are you a meat or dairy eater?
Still having protein don't think I would get very far having just that 😂😂. Hopefully get some answers today. Thks.
I would suggest to take a round of probiotics as well as what you are doing, in order to put good flora back into your digestive system. But find one with live, active organisms in it. Most of us don’t eat enough (or any) fermented foods the way our ancestors did. The natural flora in our gut dies off and needs replaced, but with what we eat these days, the flora isn’t replaced well enough. Snacking on cultured Greek yogurt might also be a good idea for you? But always ask your Dr.
Best of luck🙏
Get checked for SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and gastroparesis. They are more commonly seen in scleroderma, but I guess that there can be overlap with connective tissue disease.
