I have thyroid and sjogrens diseases but a week before periods start I am floored and can hardly move. The same for a week after my period and have heavy periods on Tranexamic acid for heaviness but Gp has suggested coil or try another Progesterone only pill.
Has anybody had similar experiences with the severe fatigue before periods start and found anything to work treatment wise?
Thank you

Yes , some years before actually diagnosis of Sjögrens i was having awful heavy periods causing anaemia. Tranexamic acid helped for while but things started getting much worse after a year or so . I was referred for ablation of womb which turned out a great success, I didn’t have a heavy period again in fact my periods ended a few months after . It obviously not recommended if you are planning kids. I hope you are able to get help as it is so exhausting and wearing xx
Yes I have this problem too. I don't have very heavy periods but I get tired before and after. It feels like a 'mini flare'. Some months are better that others. I haven't been able to figure out if it's related to my lupus or just hormones but things have improved a little since my doctor told me to start taking iron supplements. I have slightly low red counts and hemoglobin due to my lupus.
