Hi I have stopped having my hair blow dried/under hairdryer as this intensives the itching you may laugh but I have my hair washed cut & rollers put in & come home by car with the rollers in as hairdryers are a no no. Best wishes to you

Hi Mandypandy yes its all part of lupus, the heat from the sun makes the lupus skin rashes worse and also heat from hair dryers. Try to stay out of the sun and always wear a hat. Sorry its just something else to add lupus nasties. Keep well & happy

I have fibromyalgia and sjogrens. It was first thought lupus by rheumatologist but then was decided fibromyalgia and sjogrens so could it mean all 3. I don't get facial rashes. I always wear a baseball cap in the sun. Xx

Hi I have discoid lupus but I don't get the facial rashes (fingers crossed) more across my back & shoulders & of course my scalp which has resulted in a few bald patches where the hair does not grow back fortunately my hair is quite thick. I am not taking any medication only a prescribed steroid gel when the itching is at its worst. I have had this over 40 years which started in my 20's. Wishing you good luck & hope you find some help.

Thankyou I am hoping I get some joy when I see the neurologist. Fingers crossed. What's discoid lupus? X

Yes. I have the same rash on my nose. I’m very careful so I don’t look like I have male pattern baldness. Sometimes it’s itchy.

Hello everone,

YES my head itch drives me mad and always gets worse befor a flair.

I had an inkling it was related because I have had the itchy scalp for years before any diagnosis, I also have to forgo any hair treatments like colouring etc.

Hugs to all that need one today.
