I have not been on for the last several days, I had an extremely rough few days, stomach virus I suppose, and still not completely over it. Friday night and all day Saturday, I would have had to of gotten better in order to die! Iโm pretty sure death would of felt better? Unfortunately with an
autoimmune disease, it takes longer to fight off any kind of infection. A 24 hour bug can last several days!
Anyway I am slowly but surely starting to get over it, (maybe), I still feel like crap!
In the mean time my son got a
Mal-Shi puppy Saturday, one of his friends gave it to him. (About a $500 puppy!). It is a cross between a Maltese & Shih Tzu, it only gets 6 to 12 pounds and is a ball of soft, fluffy fur. He named it Teddy (as in teddy bear). He has taken up with me!๐
I have heard and read that dogs can pick up on someone who has an illness, and tries to make them happy, and comfort them?
We have not had a pet in 15 plus years, so it is going to getting use to again, training etc.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Iโm so sorry youโre feeling lowly, Tiras. God knows you didnโt need a stomach bug on top of everything else. Hang in there, it will get better, just at a slower pace for us.
Iโm glad you get to spend time with the puppy. I believe itโs true that they sense disease and sadness.
Thank you for posting Lupus and Virus. I have Lupus and got the flu a couple of weeks ago. The Dr. told me it would only last 5 to 6 days lasted 2 weeks
Thank you! I understand completely! What should have been a 24 hour bug, turned into 3 day bug. It just takes us longer, and is harder to fight off some, if not, most things for us.
I hope you are over or will get over it soon, and feel much better!
I was thinking to myself โwhere is Tiras?โ just yesterday so I am somewhat glad to here from you, but so sorry to hear itโs been because you were ill ๐ how rotten! I hope you get yourself fully better (as can be!) soon dear!
Also, that puppy is just the most adorable ball of fluff I have ever seen. Never heard of a Mal-Shi, will probably be looking them up all day now!
Honestly, I didnโt even feel like sitting up. Head was pounding, didnโt even want to look at a computer, and or phone screen. Yes, I felt that bad. I probably slept 28 hours out of 36 this weekend! This morning I feel so much better, almost back to normal! Yea!๐
On the puppy, donโt take my word but, I understand that they are a fairly new breed? Not recognized yet by the AKA? He is adorable, playful, & loving. They are โtoy breedโ of dogs and do not get very large, about 10 to 12 pounds at the most? Iโll let you know the answer to that question in a few months!๐
Oh, until my son brought him home, I had never heard of that breed either.๐
Hi Tiras - that is wonderful news (the puppy not the stomach virus). My sister was poorly and alone, her daughter gave her a rescue dog - I was furious - within a short time I realised he was a blessing. The love and devotion, amusement and distraction, changed her life for the better. I hope this is what happens to you. Best wishes Cas70
I had that stomach bug at the end of January-- took 3 weeks to fully recover to normal. Though I was just off work for 3 days, my appetite and tummy didn't fully recover immediately. Then in the middle of March, I had influenza A-- even had the vaccine! Finally feeling like the worst is over. Hope you are fully back to yourself soon!
