Couple of questions I hope i may be able to get help with.. Firstly iv had this now continually for 11 months, iv had anti- biotics, loads of different nasal sprays and antihistamines and its never come close to going away. Iv also just been told i am bordering diabetes and I have ruemetoid arthritas in most of my joints. Firstly are any of these linked and what can i do about the sinusitus as its now starting to affect my daily life physically and mentally. PS im 53 yrs old. Thank you.

Have you been referred to and seen by your local Ear Nose and Throat team (ENT). Your recurrent infections may be a result of a collection or polyps and you may need a CT scan of your sinuses?

After such a prolonged infection they need to treat the cause of the recurrent infection, not just the infection itself.

That’s exactly what happened to my friend, had the ct of sinuses months ago and still waiting for the treatment !! At least she knows the cause now .

Hi Dees2201

I have had the same problem for several years and treated with all different types of antibiotics and nasal sprays and finally I have been diagnosed with serious sinusitas infection and I am now been booked in for drainage of my sinuses and removal of polyps. You just have to keep pushing and you will get there.

Hope you get a speedy diagnosis soon.

Take care
