I was diagnosed with lupus in the early 60s. At the age of 6. I seem to have grown out of it as the years went by. Lots of pain and swollen joints. In my late teens all seemed better. I am now 60 and diabetic for 37 years. My joints and back hurt again has it returned ?.can anyone help.

Hi Oldpain. Presumably you aren’t currently being seen by a rheumatologist so it’s worth discussing your concerns with your GP, whether it proves to be lupus or not. Thinking of you and wishing you well

Hi my storey started when i was 6 rounds about. I was admitted to birmingham children hospital they could not find what was wrong with me i had a bad rash my joints swole some sort of cysts you to come on my head. I was in the hospital for 6 months round about. I was always told i had a rare blood disease. It is only recently when asking my doctor . He told me it was lupus. Hi Oldpain ,

It really would be best to see a rheumatologist and have some blood tests to check whether your lupus is active or if your symptoms may be caused by something else.
