Need opinions please

Hi i have been diagnosed with Lupus. I am only taking prednisolone. Is there any other medication that i should be taking ?

Most people with lupus will be started on hydroxychloroquine. Has this been discussed with you?

What dose of prednisolone are you currently taking?

I diagnose last year I’m taking prednisilone methotrexate and folic acid but I stop the methotrexate and folic because I’m coughing for almost 6 month this medication is complicated with the other medication. Now I’m taking prednisilone and plaquinel and vitamin d it help a lot I feel much better compare last year

Also less red meat more fruits and veggies sometimes vinegar and lemon is not good for lupus .

Hi I am surprised you have not been started on hydroxychloroquine. That seems to be the first drug they try. Have you seen a rheumatologist, I’m sure they use more than prednisolone and limit the prednisolone for when you are having a flare. Perhaps you should query this with your Drs. Good luck. Xx

Medications will be different for everyone, and will depend on how severe your lupus symptoms are at the moment. If you feel your lupus is not being managed will on your current medications, it is important to let your rheumatologist know and discuss your options.
