Hi NewYorktoParis ,
How is your family member getting on? I'm afraid that none of us are medically trained here, so we cannot give advice regarding treatment. Have they spoken with their doctor about this?
Hi, bleeding stopped after 2 days which we thought was due to the Lupus. My wife was then discharged, which she shouldn't have been, and has now had to be re-admitted after 7 days. The ear bleeding was just a coincidence during her stay. It appears if you can walk 3 steps with a walking frame the physio believes you are medically fit and safe to go home. Regarding the Lupus, the rheumatoid consultant visited the ward and doesn't believe it is now Lupus. He didn't give any further diagnosis. There's plenty more relating to the Lupus diagnosis and her condition which I haven't mentioned on this forum.
Hi NewYorktoParis ,
I'm sorry to hear that your wife was discharged prematurely and that the consultant has doubted her diagnosis. Have they made any adjustments to her treatment?
Is your wife still under the rheumatologist who diagnosed her lupus? Does she have an appointment coming up?
Treatment wise, they are reducing the prednisolone to nil and have stopped the warfarin. There has been no mention of any replacement steroid or the cause of the ulcerated legs. The original Lupus diagnosis was conducted by a Dermatologist(punch biopsy) and a Haematologist (blood tests) before the Rheumatoid consultant was involved. Still in hospital and awaiting visits from dermatologist and rheumatologist.
