No heat rash for the first time ever!! Was it Plaqunil?

Hi all,

I was diagnosed a few months back and on plaqunil 200mg twice daily and it has changed my life (well so far anyway). I have energy where I had none, fatigue has lifted, odd joint and muscle pain but not debilitating or prolonged. But this most amazing thing about it ... no heat rash!!! Ever year for as long as I can remember, the slightest sight of the sun and I'm covered in an angry red rash. But so far nothing. My hands, arms, face and chest would usually be out by now especially given the sun of last weekend. I was even tempting fate when it hadn't come out and stayed out in the sun for a while and nothing. Now I know it could be a coincidence and I could be back here mid summer saying it's back but I am just wondering has anybody else experienced this? Can I dare to dream that my life might be free of the dreaded heat rash. To give an example of how sensitive I am to the sun, I got a heat rash in February this year when the sun poked through the clouds for a few minutes? Also the rash I had been getting on my face has cleared up, it was red and sore almost like hives but has gone and hasn't returned. If this is all from two little tablets twice a day it's a game changer and has given me my life back (so far anyway!!).

Same for me too, works really well for some people but not for others. Glad your feeling better x

Hi, I was diagnosed with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis in November, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to sit in the sun this year but so far so good, my face does get a bit red but not too bad at t mo. I am on methotrexate and hydroxycholoroquine sulphate.

It must be so nice for you after all this time to sit in the sun.
