Hi I have been searching the internet for what constitutes a high dsDNA. Mine is dsDNA crithidia positive = 252, is this high? I have been diagnosed with SLE, just wondered if this result is one of the factors for my diagnosis? Thanks in advance.

Hi Pollydolly45,
We are not medically trained here therefore, we cannot comment on what your blood test result indicates. Are you able to discuss this with your GP or rheumatologist?
The dsDNA antibody is highly specific to lupus; it is not typically seen in any other condition or in healthy population. Approximately 60% of people with SLE test ‘positive’ for this antibody. For more information, you can read our blog article on ‘getting a diagnosis of lupus’ here: lupusuk.org.uk/getting-diag...
Hi. It is fairly high and I’m assuming your rheumatologist has called you back to discuss this?
High yes that is very high and raised dsdna is the result that specifically points to lupus , have you been asked to go for further tests and put on any medication ?
Yes. It's high enough to warrant a specialist to investigate and perhaps up the medications.
