Prednisone

Hi everyone

I have had a terrible few weeks with chest infection, followed by a lupus flare which was treated with a short sharp dose of prednisone

Flare subsided but my anxiety skyrocketed for weeks and no matter what I tried holistically I couldnt get it to calm the #$% down

Expletives only to emphasise the severity-apologies if Ive offended.

Eventually back to doctor AND told oh yeh Prednisone is well known for anxiety and intefering with antianxiety medication.

So there you have it..... sometimes our treatment "untreats" other areas.

I feel your #$%*~¥> frustration. There’s nothing like getting kicked twice off the same drug! This disease just keeps on giving! Chin up and try to calm down if you can (I know it’s easy for me to say when it’s not me feeling it) Good Luck with the anxiety, hopefully you will feel better soon.

I’ve taken prednisone and other drugs in in many doeses for 26 years.

I wwas diagnosed with anxiety and panic about 7 years ago and it was all blamed on stress, my ability to cope etc.. I didn’t feel any lesss able I cope and in fact feel very settled now,

I’m a very stoic person and always had this feeling that the meds has something to do with it..

Wow, know exactly how that feels. I went off prednisone for that reason, and other symtoms, feel better in those areas but still have the hideous dry mouth. Bought mouth spray and sugarless gum to help.

Yes, i will never take pred or any other steroids as i have a bad physicalogical reaction to them. Anxiety is terrible too.

Hope you start to feel a bit better soon. Have you been given any medication for your anxiety? X
