Trying to reduce steroids
Changing the dose of steroids after a while on them can leave you feeling quite shaky - especially if your doctor has told you to do it in biggish steps. Some people struggle and doing the reduction in small steps makes it a bit easier. What dose have you been/are you on? And what sort of reduction plan?
Aww I know how u feel. I been on them 38 years & every change in dose affects me greatly. Messes my about big time. My heart just goes crazy. I’ve also had a few occasions where it has jumped out of rhythm. Do it very gradual . That’s all I can say really. I hate them but they have saved my life over the years. God Bless you’ll get there.
Have you been told to take it slow?
I am reducing by 0.5mg every 4 weeks. Sometimes I don't feel the reduction at all. Sometimes I feel very tired for 48 hours and other times it takes me about 7 days to to recover from tiredness + sluggish brain + few niggle type pains in joints.
My Consultant told me that the 7 day scenario is quite normal if you have been on them for a while. So I don't worry about it.
