So I have SLE, Sjögrens, and Raynauds and hyper mobility. For a while now my 9 year old has been under the weather. She has been diagnosed with hypermobility and we saw a pead rheumy last month who took bloods from her including an Ana, I got her results back today and her Ana was positive but only at a 1:80. If I remember rightly this is not overly high?? We are have a follow up in a few weeks but in the meantime my head is working overtime. Thanks xx

I can relate to your post as I am worried about my own daughter who is 11 and has already been diagnosed with coeliac disease but complains about a very dry mouth all the time and odd aches and pains and she can't walk properly. We've got a GP appointment at the end of next week to discuss.
The ANA result that you've had for your daughter 1:80 is not usually deemed to be a significant result as I think you know: rheuminfo.com/common-tests/... . I know it's very easy to say but I wouldn't worry too much about this result and it's good that you've got a follow-up appointment in a few weeks when you can discuss the blood results alongside your daughter's symptoms with the rheumy paediatrician. (I know you are going to worry anyway because that's what we do as parents isn't it!)
Hi, I will answer just with my own experiences. I am 54 and have lupus, sjorgrens, RA , hypothyroidism etc. My son who is 29 has just been diagnosed with Graves disease after a long illness and a bout of DVT. Now my grandson 8 has kidney issues which they are looking at autoimmune conditions. However, they will not do ANA tests for either. They say that they are not showing symptoms of other conditions. My ANA has always been quite low however, my rheumy has said that he looks at symptoms and bloods. Many people however, have positive ANA that do not have an autoimmune condition so that's always a positive.
