My son has been bed bound for over a year after a steady decline in health over 4 years. He suffers from severe fatigue, brain fog, low mood and lots of neurological symptoms.
We now have a diagnosis and medication that has made a remarkable difference. He has ME caused by Neurasthenia and has been prescribed pre gabalin and beta bockers. He has built 2 computers in one day (he is a computer geek) after not being able to barely lift a screwdriver.
Thank you all those who contributed to my posts that really help inform what this was and what it was not.
Lessons from this :
1. Doctors are human and know very little. The most helpful are those who acknowledge that not everything can be measured or explained
2. If you have symptoms like lupus it may not be lupus
3. Knowledge is key - and the experiences of many people are inavaluable.
Thank you all for your help on this - just now got to fix my sjogrens wife - pooh bear

This is WONDERFUL to hear...after all your son& family have been through...so uplifting xo
Does your son take any products containing sweeteners? All of his symptoms could be stemming from that? People don't realise this is the cause of many, many things and they are given medication which can actually cause more irreversible damage when stopping these contaminated foods was all that was required! So look at table top sweeteners, sodas -full sugar and diet, yoghurts, vit c tabs, medicines such as Gaviscon, Lemsip powders, vitamin chews, diluting squashes etc. These all caused me to have his symptoms and I've had an amazing recovery since stopping them! Don't accept medication that may well improve things short term but mask the real issue. There is always only one winner in all of our health issues - the pharmaceutical companies!
