Hello,

I have been prescribed 400mg of Hydroxychloroquine and Femoston by my doctor if that helps. I also take warfarin and steroids too.

Sometimes I think my body is will rattle with the amount of tablets I have to take.

Yes it is HRT and it's taken many years to find the right HRT that works for me. I wouldn't worry and just let your rheumatologist know how you feel they will try to help. If not you could always see an endocrinologist. It may be different for you than me as I've gone through an early menopause at 19 so I have to have HRT and then I discovered that I have lupus. See what they say & try stay positive as they should be there to help.

I was told no hormones because can effect the lupus...but everyone is different. I am sure your doctor will know for you.

Yes, I'm on HRT. I had a hysterectomy a few years ago, so I only take oestrogen, but it's not made my symptoms worse at all and made the menopause SO much more bearable!

There was some debate recently about oestrogen in autoimmune disorders. It used to be thought that because women were much more likely to have an autoimmune disorder, that it must be something to do with oestrogen. However, it's possible that it's because the 'fault' may be in X chromosomes and because women have 2, (and men only have 1 X and a 'protective' Y chromosome), then that is why women are more prone to autoimmune disorders - nothing to do with oestrogen at all.

I wish I could find where I'd bloomin' seen this research, but try as I might I can't find it anywhere again - so it might have been discredited, but it really made sense to me at the time.

Everyone is different, and it might be a bit of a trial and error process to find the right HRT, but if you're as lucky as me, you'll tolerate it well and it will make a big difference to your menopause symptoms.

Good luck 💐
