My doc took me off plaqunil because my white blood cell count was too low. Now I am on NOTHING and 6 months after being OFF the plaqunil I am getting hand rashes, which makes me think the Lupus is flaring up! I was referred to a hematologist and they are reviewing my records and I am waiting to get an appointment. Anyone experience this? Any advice? Thanks Loves!

Hello jenny...am greatly relating to your post and i hope your medics get a move on with their investigations to figure out what's up with your WBCs. Several years ago, my rheumy had me pause daily hydroxy for 5 months due to sinister bone marrow function blood test results including lymphopenia (low lymphocytes: a type of wbc). Luckily i did not have to pause my other lupus meds (daily mycophenolate + amitriptyline) but i did miss hydroxy a lot and argued my case strongly to restart hydroxy after immunology's investigations into my blood results began to clarify my problem. I was allowed back on hydroxy thank goodness.
